COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND

Dalry Primary School parent council have been very actively fundraising for their local school and community over the past year. Their goal is to install a robust adventure trail in the grounds of Dalry Primary, which would be accessible for the whole community, to help promote outdoor play and learning. It is hoped that the adventure trail will provide children with exercise that is exciting, stimulating and fun, whilst offering lots of skill building opportunities, to help improve all round development. It is also hoped that the project will be extended to include planters, seating, ground graphic design on the tarmac areas and eventually a nature walk.

The Parent Council have been very fortunate to secure a significant Awards for All grant, as well as receiving tremendous financial support from local businesses. There is also substantial support going forward from their main sponsor DSM, who will be closely involved throughout the process. The parent council would like to thank the following companies for their very generous donations; DSM (main sponsor), Awards for All, Reids Foods Service, Magnox Hunterston A, Hillhouse Quarry Group, McTaggart Construction, WI&A Gilbert Ltd, Zebec Biogas, Z Hinchcliffes & Sons, Reddance Building Supplies, Wilsons Auctions, Mr & Mrs Alexander of Borestone Repairs, J&J McCosh, James Patrick & Muir, Re/Max Properties, Tax Assist Accountants, The Royal Hotel and McTaggart Veterinary Group.

Thanks to the support given by parents, guardians and extended family with all of our school fundraising activities, coupled with the sponsorship that has now been secured, the Parent Council are almost about to reach their target, which will allow the project to commence. This culmination of support really epitomises the motto “Together we can make this happen” and shows the community spirit that exists in Dalry.
