Transition Town Dalry
Recession, peak oil, climate change, rising fuel prices, housing crisis... the news seems to get worse every day. And while these very serious problems might still seem far away, they're going to start affecting Dalry soon, if they aren't already. We need to do something now!
.
The 'Transition Town' idea is about getting together with other local people to figure out how we can best prepare for these challenges, in the way that's best for Dalry. We can think about how they're going to affect local shops and businesses, local transport, jobs, energy, food and security. And once we understand what it all means, we can start doing whatever it takes to make sure Dalry will survive, and even thrive, when the full effects start to be felt.

- Why don't the people behind Transition Town Dalry come out from behind their computers and arrange a public debate about what issues you are concerned with, perhaps in Dalry Town Hall (maybe)? You might want to invite some of the " TOON" Councillors alang tae it to gie their ain opinion, theres a guid idea!!!!

Hi Billy,
Yes that's exactly what we need to do! As soon as there are enough people in Dalry who care to do something, we'll organise some events. We're hoping to arrange a screening of one of the excellent 'peak oil' films that are now available, as well as some public talks, so more people understand just how serious the coming crisis is, and so we can start to figure out the best way to deal with them. And the town councillors would definitely be invited.
This IS all about the people of Dalry after all!
