Hello Dalry,
My name is Isabella Boyce McManus, the middle daughter of Geddes McManus and Isabel Andrews. I am currently serving in Afghanistan as a Police Advisor to the Afghan National Police service.
I was on the net and decided to look up my home town of Dalry in Ayrshire, and to my surprise and delight I found a wealth of knowledge about the village, and the people past and present. I have lived in Dalry for the past 44 years, at the Learig, which has a wonderful view of the public park, and St. Margaret's Church steeple. I have seen a pleasant improvement to Dalry over the last few years, and I agree we are the best wee toun in the area. Keep the good work up Myra, Robert and Mary, and hopefully when I come hame I will see many more improvements.
You're right Myra, Christmas is special in Dalry especially at the Learig. Save the toun Hall the Community needs it, get the Blair castle to help its their toun tae. Keep the good work up and all the very best fae Afghanistan.
Why does Myra Sim think there is only one school in Dalry? If only she would open her eyes and notice there is a fantastic little school at Roche Way, I believe she has ignored this fact for several years now, especially in her Dalry news column, could she address this issue??????????
I think the contribution from Dalry Resident on this thread has been unfair about Myra forgetting about St Palladius R.C. Primary School in Dalry. It is up to the school in particular to contact Myra by phone or e-mail her if they want news about the school published in her Dalry column in the local paper. It is the very same for all organisations within the town to do this. Myra takes a lot of her own personal time and hard work to promote Dalry and helps out EVERY organisation within the town. In the video she was explaining about recent changes to the town of the new Dalry Primary & Nursery Campus. Alternatively, as your local s1dalry.com, I can put in school news about ALL the schools in Dalry to keep parents and pupils up to date of what is happening in their school or they can directly do it themselves. This is a very good way of letting all parents/pupils/staff the very latest news about what is happening in their school if something had to happen for example, school was closed due to bad weather.
Myself as your s1dalry.com correspondent has agreed to work with Myra in UNISON to help PROMOTE YOUR TOWN of DALRY for the better of all who either currently lives or lived here or anyone who works or has ties to this community. We are doing this as volunteers, doing our bit for all of Dalry.
